Saw the replay, and it looked to me like the first guy went behind to keep the punt out of the endzone, then the others took that as a reason to assume that Peterson wasn't returning it.

The plan was to have the gunners get behind him and down it inside the 10 when he called for a fair catch and then let it go. So much for guessing.

Yeah, the punt before was similar and he faked and let it go, hitting on about the 10 or less and it went for a TB. I imagined the way the ST handled that one, the coaches were on their asses to clean that up, but he caught it on the 11 and took it to the house.

BTW, who's #44? He plays ST and is slow as shite. Why? In fact, many on our coverage teams are pretty fuking slow, relatively, seems that way to me, anyway.

Hell of a plan from an alleged pro ST coach.

Arizona came in much like every team last year did to stop the run and make a rookie QB beat them. Last year Clausen didn't this year Cam almost did. I imagine/hope running lanes will open up with a somewhat credible passing game. Defense and special teams have to learn to tackle better.

If Cam can play like he did yesterday consistently then teams will stop daring him to throw it. The offense has a chance to be very good. If the OL can get its crap together then look out.

Ginger's pair of poorly timed blitzes cost the team 14 points.

I was actually impressed with the defense otherwise. Made nice adjustments at halftime and held AZ to 19 yds rushing in the 2nd half. Just a pair of big plays, again, on horribly timed blitzes.

They both might make Easterbrook's "Stop Me Before I Blitz Again" segment.
