I'll bet Luck won't be the #1 prospect in next year's draft. He lost his coach as well as a lot of teammates and could very well not look quite so good this year. Plus the draft hype machine just has a way of moving on to the next sure thing.

I get what you're saying because prospects are often overhyped (Locker, etc), but Luck is the real deal. He's not as good as the media was making him out to be, for instance I think Sam Bradford was a significantly better QB prospect, but he has borderline franchise potential.

I'm not doubting his talent, just that he has some challenges to overcome if he wants to be the hottest draft prospect two years in a row:

    1) Live up to last year's performance while playing for a new coach and behind a new o-line.
    2) Avoid injury.
    3) Not have one of the thousands of other college players come out of the year looking like a better prospect.

If I were an odds maker, I'd say his chance of being the first pick next year are about 1 in 3 at best. 50-50 he stays in the top 3.

It's looking like the panthers or the bengals for Luck so he might want to apply for law school.
