OK, so there are links (from a decade ago, lolz) that say he wanted total control. That suggests that the owner couldn't possibly have meddled? I'm sure that 2001 team of young players was exactly what he wanted, just like the 2011 team was just what Fox was dying for. Both came a year before major change that Richardson publicly stated he wanted to prepare for.
