I think it's been on everyone's mind for years that we were going to have to move on from Kasay. I, like most, feared we'd wait a year too long. They didn't, which is good.

The concern now is whether they did enough to replace him, and certainly they didn't shy from the money to do so. Mare seems to be a guy they know what they're getting into, but they also spent for a player that has a few limitations. I can't be that unhappy they moved away from Kasay, but hopefully this works out. It doesn't look great on the first day.

As stated earlier, if they planned on getting rid of Kasay then I wish they had just used a fourth round pick on Alex Henery. He'd be a lot cheaper than Mare, and a lot better.

Kasay was as good or better at field goals. If this is about kick offs then it makes no sense with the new rules. In any event they should have handled it better. Kasay has been with us since day one and made a lot of big field goals for us.

or pick up david akers. His leg is better than both, and other than screwing up the playoff game vs the packers, had a great season. How Hurney has a job is beyond me.

I think the Vikings resigned Ryan Longwell to a deal much lower than what we gave Mare.

Don't you know the crowd is going to be all over Mare the first time he misses a big field goal.

I know we blame hurney alot - and I'm not letting him off the hook - but I think alot more goes into the personnel decisions than hurney.

    Blame everybody!

When Mare misses that first field goal, *or kicks it out of bounds in the super bowl* go cunt punt a 60 year old ticket taker.

Akers is a better kicker than both, but I thought there were some questions about his leg.

Philly is a much tougher kicking environment than anything the other two ever played in.

Mare has lived in Mooresville, NC for 5 years. "I'm from south Fla. My wife's from New York. It's 11 hours each way."
