Wouldn't the Panthers be a better overall team if we let Deangelo walk and used some of that money to sign Bush? I am not talking about a mega deal as I think that everyone realizes that he is going to have to take a pay cut (although the Panthers would have to overpay some). Not only does this give us a unique offensive weapon, but he solves the long term problems in the return game.

    Thoughts?

well, her in franklin were Tighten fans and johnson is better then Bush or any other runnyback. so you take the dam Bush and loose william. if wont want to make one bit of diferrent. now if the Tightens get the qorterback they need (mcnub or hassle) to teech Locker, we shoud be good in 2012 for super bowl.

    go Tightens!!

I can see the idea and I'm really against giving an assload of money to Williams, but Reggie Bush isn't very good. Darren Sproles would give you a lot of the same abilities at a probably lower cost.

I actually think Sproles will get more than Bush, but I'm still not keen on the idea because I think Goodson already gives you most of that at a fraction of the cost. If Mike has been working on catching passes then he can be that great multi-purpose weapon.

I'm actually a Reggie Bush fan. I live down in NO and he gets a lot of shit. Its hard to defend him when he was the 2nd pick in the draft, but in my mind he's pretty damn important to the Saints offense. Obviously he's not the greatest RB in the world but he is probably the best RB at catching the ball out of the backfield since Marshall Faulk. If I were the Saints I would have brought him back at a reduced price over Pierre Thomas who is solid but doesn't have the explosion that Bush does.

Not sure he would be an upgrade here. None of our backs are particularly good at catching the ball so he'd bring that element, but push comes to shove I'd take DW over him easy.

On an aside he'd improve our horrific PR game immediately.

They do fine without him. He'd be more of a luxury than a necessity for any team.
