Typically, the more detached a writer is from a team/situation, the more inept the reporting. Ironically, as has been opined here in this forum, the local beat isn't very desirable.

Still, Silver does what he does, and this is a small sample. He'll be on to something else by this morning.

 

I just bombed away 3 minutes of my life by actually reading Silver's piece. It's always refreshing when the columnist makes the story 90% about him, and 10% about what's important. Frustrated cuckolds.

 

Silver was just being an ass plain and simple.

I think the players kept it private so the media woudlnt make a big deal of Smitty not being there.

 

Pats fired up practices at Boston College, with full security detail. And I don't disagree with it. But, doubt Mr. Silver will have a column dedicated to it.

Not faked. I've had a few tangles with Silver and his rage roughly matches my own.

His perspective piece was written very poorly, like a lot of posts on, well, message boards. It's fine to be critical--there's plenty of room for that with respect to Carolina.

I suppose I disagree, and take a much different view, on the "security" issue. We're not the only team that's doing it--we just happen to have Cam Newton now, and we're a fucking punching bag after rolling out a 2-14 campaign. Comes with the territory--kinda like post-2001, when the media was carving up this team like a monkey on a cupcake.

Silver came across, in his piece, as a petulant douche. But, then again, that doesn't mean his musings won't draw attention--they do.

When did you have an issue with Silver? I'd love to see that transcript.

 

Plus, none of this shit has any bearing on the team's performance. Whenever they start playing games. Filler.
