Finished evaluating QB Matt Moore on Wednesday & really like him. I believe he has talent to become a VG starting QB in the NFL.

We have no intentions of re-signing Matt.

I think a lot of people on this board are pro Moore. If we really do plan on sitting Chocolate Jesus his first year, i could see Moore and Clausen competing for the starting spot. What incentive does Rivera have not to let them compete?

Moore is a starter, if he has a good supporting cast.

moore was a starter. when it was his team he played like a fucking retard, and reacted to adversity by tanking. he got pulled for ostrich boy, got another shot, fucked it up and got hurt.

Disagree on this. Concussion, rushed back too early after concussion, serious shoulder injury.

Ever had a concussion? I mean a real one? You may look like a retard after getting a concussion, but that doesn't make you one. Moore rushed back too soon - and John Fox let him. Now that doesn't excuse Moore's performances. He stunk up the preseason like the rest of the team. But I firmly believe Moore would have worked out the kinks of his first real starting job to become a quality starting quarterback for the Panthers.

And Pickle would have sat like he should have, and the Panthers wouldn't have picked Cam Newton.

Hurney screwed up royally by not getting a vet QB on the roster last summer. For that, there is no excuse.

In case you guys forgot, the team's owner made the decision to be young and cheap. Not Hurney.

Moore would have been better without that Week 1 concussion. Good enough to replicate 2009? Who knows, but the dude has shown his value in big games before. Whether that's on a starter or back-up level is debatable.

Not buying that at all. I think the roster moves were Hurney's idea, not something forced on him.

If coming out of 2008 they had signed a decent veteran QB instead of giving Delhomme that big contract then the whole franchise would be different. They probably make the playoffs in 2009. They were not far off with the weakest starting QB in the league playing most of the games. 2010 does not get the roster purge or awful season if not for Jake tanking the 2009 season. Hurney screwed the pooch on that one big time.

As it stands now I see no reason to bring Moore back. I would rather get a proven veteran if we really plan to sit Newton. I really doubt he sits more than a couple of games at most though.
