Sport Science: High-tech QB combine

hah. when it comes to NFL projections, i think i've been pretty fair in my judgments.

ponder is decent. he's smart, good-looking and doesn't "need" football. he has good escapability, accurate (though lots of drops and bad routes by young WRs), reads defenses and makes calls at the line. can make all the throws. MVP of the senior bowl. sometimes throws a WTF interception. went through a streak of tossing high passes, but generally good mechanics and nice touch. he's had good QB coaching at FSU under fisher. ponder should be drafted in the first two rounds, probably by a WCO. not good at play action, for whatever reason -- lost a game because of it. his character, experience, leadership and work-ethic make him pretty low risk. i'd say he's a solid, but not spectacular QB. reminds me of matt schaub.

 

Hasnt he had like 4 surgeries on that arm already, 2 cuffs, 2 elbows?

 

Yeah. I think I said in another thread that his big baggage is the injuries.
