On Tuesday, the Carolina Panthers will stage a workout with quarterback prospect Ryan Mallett, according to Aaron Wilson of National Football Post. Per Wilson, a number of NFL coaches and executives were at Mallett's pro day last week, including Seattle Seahawks general manager John Schneider, Denver Broncos offensive coordinator Mike McCoy, Tennessee Titans QB coach Dowell Loggains, Panthers QB coach Mike Shula and Cincinnati Bengals QB coach Ken Zampese.
As Darin Gantt of the Rock Hill Herald observes, this means that the Panthers will spend time with three of the top QBs available in this year's draft class: Mallett on Tuesday, Cam Newton will visit with the team on Wednesday and Blaine Gabbert's pro day is Thursday.
Regarding the last of that triumvirate, Carl Moritz of Sporting News noted that Gabbert has a shot to be the No. 1 pick should he impress at his pro day and subsequent visit. At this point in the process, teams have a framework for their draft board, but slight tweaks are still possible over the last few weeks.
As we know, the Panthers go with Gabbert in Mel Kiper, Jr.'s latest mock draft, though Mel also addressed the possibility of a team trading up with the Panthers:
    - Tim Kavanagh

I'd think so, but this is a team that traded up to draft Armanti Edwards, so it's tough to say. I actually kind of like Mallett. Just not #1 overall.

    Not familiar.

Mallett, dunno. I do expect we have interest. Hes ok. Great arm, ok accuracy. He's gotta work past that Patrino stigma, and show he can read a D.
