I don't think I'd turn down any offers to #4. All the better if Newton, Peterson, Fairley went 1-3, IMO.

I think a team could hate Newton and love Gabbert. However, everyone knows Buffalo wants a QB, and if you trade with Denver, the Panthers could take Gabbert. Since you know the Panthers have many needs, maybe you decide a franchise QB is worth the reach. Technically, both top QBs could be gone by the third pick. Mallett and Locker are not as attractive.

And if Washington wants to trade down, take it. Then trade up with Cleveland or someone and get Dareus or Green or even Peterson. We would still pull at least a second rounder out of a trade down then up move.

Not sure but he's owed a lot. Without looking, I seem to recall reading/hearing 50 mil.

I used to like him but he looked like shit last year, don't know if it was injury hangover or what.

there are even enough pairs of players at DE, DT, WR, CB that second best is probably enough.

    ESPN's latest mock has

    1. Bowers
    2. Fairley
    3. Gabbert
    4. Newton

Two QBs are moving getting near the top. When the hype machine gets more time to work maybe someone will offer us a nice deal to get one of those guys.

I would rather have Fairely than Bowers if we stay put. We have some guys at DE already.

unless some other teams front office goes retahded (come on washington) there will be no trading down from #1 overall . . . we're stuck with it

not totally against it - there won't be a FA that good, especially not with years in the coryell O like he's had, but at 31 with some injuries, and talking about retirement, I wonder how long he has left.

Plus trading from 1 to 4 means Palmer's worth a high first by himself, by the chart.

given the lack of "wow talent" at the top of this draft, i think the standard trade chart is unconventional
