Probably a weighted lottery though. I'm guessing they'd probably do something similar to what the NHL did. The NHL weighted the teams based on play-off appearances over the past three seasons (or something like that)...which would not be ideal for Panthers with that wonderful 2008 playoff appearance on the books.

    Wooh, God.

It's dark days in here, folks. Damn. We as fans have suffered through a lot of lows, and experienced a lot of highs. Look at the Jags. Nah. They haven't endured the craziness we have. In under two short decades, we've experienced what most teams do in 50-70 years. Deaths, murders, Playoffs, Superbowl loss, 1-15 seasons, 2-14, Owners running a first class organization, life time contracts, hated coordinators, loved coaches, players who hang around forever, retirements with tears, quarterbacks cut in their primes, quarterbacks quitting on the team, owners almost dying, perceived to be running the team into the ground due to selfish motivations, regardless of whether it's true or not...

    I mean---OUCH.

And our "Peyton Manning" as everyone keeps referring him to...walking out...going back to school, when all we needed was a little hope in SUCH a dark period for this franchise.

    Damn.

It's just painful as a fan. We all endure. My inclination was to make fun of buck nasty when he was posting drunk, begging dukey to make a different video. He had all the writings of a repressed homosexual, and I could see him staggering around the house with a bottle of whiskey in his hand, barking out incomprehensible slurs to an empty house....finally falling to the seat of his computer, with an Andrew Luck wallpaper raising his arms in victory, staring back at a tearful and lost man....

...but fuck that. Buck nasty CARES. It hurt him.

    And ya know what?

I'm hurt. Im saddened by this. WTH, man. I feel like I've lost a girlfriend. Irrational? Sure! Of course it is!!! It's downright SILLY!

But goddammit, I hurt. I'm with buck nasty. I'm gonna have a stiff drink this weekend, fuck my married girlfriend, and wallow in a little self pity. I'm going to stare at the wall...and I'm going to pull up a screenshot of Andrew Luck, never say it publicly, but privately wish he will be doomed to eternal Hell in a wheelchair, and then I'm going to go to sleep. Wake up. And wonder who the FUCK we're going to draft.

Eventually...I'm going to hold out foolish blindly hopeful dreams that perhaps, Clausen will be tutored under an excellent offensive mind, learn how to drop and throw, get a somewhat quicker release, read his progressions w his receivers instead of dumping off when the first guy is covered, and become something...and hope that we can look back and think, My God, we actually almost lost the Clausen-Green/Smith combination! THE HORROR!

    Dude...

It's dark days. It's a trying time to be a Panther fan.

And fuck it. I'm glad I am. For whatever it's worth. And we may kick each others' asses in here sometimes....but we're in this together.

Fuck you, Luck. I wanna cry.

What are you guys talking about ? All is fine here.

-Our owner is widely viewed (rightly or wrongly) as a cheapskate, who is more concerned with the league than his team. And he's like 90, with a rented ticker, with no heir apparent to the team when he buys the farm.

-Our GM is widely viewed (correctly) as an imbecile, yet for some reason the owner loves him and will never replace him.

-Our coach is vacant, soon to be filled by the cheapest candidate we can find.

-Our QB, the most important position on the team, is mediocre at best.

-The team itself just finished with the worst record in the league.

-The best player in College Football just choose school over getting paid millions by us.

    Panther Fever. Catch it.
