i'd roll the dice on him at this point. Was Josh Freemon a better prospect than Newton is right now?

I like Newton, and I don't give a dick about character issues. If we're interviewing Rob Fucking Ryan, then all bets are off.

Trade the pick down a few slots to the team most in need of at DT or DE......

.....wait, oh shit! Forgot. That's probably our biggest need, via-draft. My bad.

It is going to be interesting to watch the stock of the QBs go up between now and late April. Newton is not worth the top pick due to the risk factor, but he might be the only way out of this mess. I think there will be others who want him and will offer trades. I think this is a great time to get a good QB and pick up a second rounder (Damn you, Hurney!). Or we could move Armanti defensive tackle. He would be so hard to block. He would lead the league in sacks.

We are probably going to sign a free agent QB and go for mediocre again.

And screw you, Clausen. For having the God-given ability to play NFL QB and being a pussy. Man up you little sissy and start stepping into the blitz and quit running from it. It is your fault we got our hearts broken today--had you been mostly man we could have laughed at ESPN instead of vica versa, you breast-feeding insecure, entitled slab of your Mama's Mackerel.

I think I'm leaning, I mean we know he's a helluva player on the field. We can't worry about his off the field issues. If he's the best on the board, we gotta give him a serious look.

    Googled Cam Newton -

Pros - size (6'5 and 250), arm strength, mobility
Cons - mechanics, footwork, work ethic, accuracy

He's a physical specimen. He could be something special if he is coached up. Needs work on throwing mechanics, footwork, and going through his progressions. Has always gotten by on raw athletic ability. As Vick found out, this is seldom enough to succeed in the NFL. Will he put in the work (especially if he is #1 overall pick)?

    Seems like huge bust potential.

    :(

And coaching up QB's has always been one of our strong points...
