9ers promote from within for GM. I guess they figured they were already doing such a good fucking job already - same as the Lions last year. They also interviewed former Panthers scout and Rams VP Tony Softli.

Apparently, Lombardi himself was speculated, and there goes their possible "in".

I thought that Fox was a non-panther coach.

with Garrett official in dallas (where do they have the ability to do that? They have to Rooney hire), if Fisher is fired, he's fighting Fox for jobs like NY.

Elway likely Chief Football Officer in Denver, likely to try to woo Harbaugh

Would it be safe to assume that Michigan is where he will coach if he is a college coach next season, and Carolina is where he will be if we go after him?

I read somewhere that Michigan players were going to petition for RRod's job if necessary.

I suppose the assumption I am making about Harbaugh's decision:

He will want to come here if we can get Luck (opposed to Tebow and what they have in SF).

We have to offer and pay him a decent salary.

I swear I think Harbaugh = Spurrier in terms of speculation. He may or may not be a better pro coach, but this hype is so similar to 2002, and Fox was a cheap unknown, and a much better hire.

I do not see Richardson getting into a bid war over a college coach, and it's not because he's cheap.

But hey, I might be wrong.

That is stupid, he just put up the best season any coach in Oakland has in almost ten years. They got better down the stretch too.
