yes, exciting = winning. It's a tried and true combo. The NFL judges the end of games by the applause meter.

Or, what we have is a sound philosophy, and players that fit that philosophy, so maybe we shouldn't just piss on that.

All of the last 10 super bowl winners were certainly a lot more exciting than anything we have going on, that's including the Baltimore offense of SB35.

Our philosophy was sound in the 70's (ball control, play solid D and hope the opponent has a mediocre day against you). And in the 2010's it will let you be a 'pretty good' team. Pretty good sucks ass....either try to build a championship team or don't. If our personnel fit our philosophy...either our philosophy sucks or their execution of that philosophy sucks. I'm inclined to believe it's a little of both.
    That's just my opinion.

there's not a ton of room to say that you can be bad at anything and still be exceptional. The thing I don't get is people who want to go in a completely new direction when this team is built to run the ball. At worst we have two good backs and at best four. We're not going K-gun.

teams that won championships were more interesting than 2 win teams?

    I'm shocked.

And actually, we had one .500 season, that's not losing.

I got no problem with old school football philosophy, welcome it actually. If you can't win the battle up front you don't have such a great chance to win in the NFL or any other league, and beating people up front is not boring. It leads to wins, and I like wins. But you have to innovate too, and we've been lacking there.

Too much micro management has been going on in the Fox tenure, IMO.

But this is a Hurney thread, so freaking firing him works for me.

Exactly, so why make the point you made previously, a 4 win team would be more exciting. Just not sure why you want to bash somebody for wanting something more exciting that the piece of crap we had this year with several of the previous years not being much better.

because I'd rather win than entertain, and you seem to be advocating worrying about entertaining.

Amazing, after the last bad season - which was nine years ago, which isn't that fucking bad - people thought all we needed to do was rack up thirty carries.

I guess I can understand it, people over-reacting to scheme when they think that's what's wrong.

Winning is entertaining, dumbass. And sticking to the status quo is equivalent to losing. FYI
