Question about off season

If you could make the call when it comes time to sign players etc. what would you do in this situation?

Do you resign DeAngelo Williams or let him walk using the saved cap space to sign a player at another position given the play of Stewart and Goodson?

In a similar situation do you let Thomas Davis walk in favor of James Anderson who would be a cheaper alternative? You could always keep both, but it seems both are best suited to play the same position.

 

I offer TD a one year deal to prove he can come back, he's not gonna get offered much better anywhere else, I don't think.

As for DW, we may not have the tags as we do now under a new agreement, but I'd tag him probably and see what gets worked out.

 

How is Anderson cheaper? Davis is coming off multiple severe injuries while the other is having a career year.

I don't think Anderson is a FA this year.

 

Depends on how the CBA shakes out but if they go back to 4 years to UFA he is.

 

Thomas Davis is a keeper... our defense would have been so much better with him. Conner played pretty well while he was in there... I would like to Beason, Conner, & Davis on the field together but I don't know how that can happen.

DW is an elite back. He has finished the last 2 seasons on IR, so he's a risk. Hard to let him go... without signing him, we get nothing in return. If we do sign him, we could get something for Goodson possibly.

Sign Davis & Williams... we should plenty of cap space

 

I would like to keep Davis but his injury history would make it hard to give him a rich contract. I would try to keep Anderson if at all possible.
