Why did we quit running to begin the second half, and during it, when we were running successfully all fist half?

 

My asshole prolapsed in the third quarter when Jeff Davidson, rather than handing the ball to a back with a 4.9 YPC average to that point to get one yard, calls a horribly designed play action, with a rookie QB, and it gets picked and pretty much game fucking over.

We had it rolling early. Felt like a game we should have run away with, but it goes to show (me) that this team is just that bad, collectively.

Lot of work to do post-January.

 

As for the running game, I don't have the game card in front of me, but yes, it did appear that we quickly got away from it. The injuries didn't help.

I don't think the team quit on Fox, or themselves. Just think we cut all the grass we could in the first 30 minutes, and finally ran out of gas.

 

I tend to think it was shit like the aforementioned play call and piss poor tackling form that lost that game.

 

We went from being up 14 to down 10 in a span of 8 offenseive snaps. Five them were runs. Of course, the 3rd and 1 pass was just a fucking awful call and the pick-six was the straw that broke our back. This team is just not good enough to answer the bell on something like that and we just ended up shitting on ourselves in all phases of the game.

How about this stat. We had the ball for over 11 minutes of the first quarter. We had it for less than six minutes of the 4th.

 

Because if something is working, you have to stop running it or they might stop it, or something.

I tried to Tivo that game, but my Tivo suggested that I stick a dull, rusty knife into my right eye instead.

I swear, every other team at least looks like a pro team most of the time, except us this year. Its hard to watch.

 

And they ran the ball at will. They had that one drive that started at their 4 and ended in a TD. Then there was the KR. We just started to fall apart in all aspects of the game in the second half.

they had over 120 yards rushing in the second half...more than they had gained in any game all fucking year.

Still, I like our chances without the Pick-Six. We handed them 14 points between that and the PR. a little adversity and we self destruct.
