the qualities of jake when he was winning?

healthy run-oriented o-line. ricky prohel, deshaun foster. and a healthy hoover

dont think we can really draft that.

jakes part in that was he didnt make mistakes.

tebow is a playmaker himself and john fox doesnt run an offense where the QB is a play maker.

In an attempt to get things moderately back on topic:

Tebow really doesn't strike me as a playmaker. He's a fluid runner, but the pros won't be worried about that. Because he's not going to get away with the option, and he's not going to get away with being the fastest on the field. He's not going to pull it down 15 times a game and lower his head for more yards - if he does he won't make it as a QB.

    So, then it's down to:
*does he have the arm? yes.
*does he have the pocket presence? no.
*does he have experience in a pro offense? no.
*does he have experience as a drop back passer? no.

Our offense doesn't disallow mobility at quarterback.

Tebow just hasn't made the strides as a passer. I thought he'd be better by now.

yeah, that part could be welcome, in theory. Bootlegs I wish we did more of, and a guy who could force you to keep contain would be bigtime (though it would make the counter game more chancy).

Raw guys who aren't pocket passers have such high risk, though.

His delivery is waaay too long and he plays in a junk college offense. Great college player but in no way would he be a good fit for the Panthers.

Luck would be nice. So would Mallett . . . saw him destroy SC a few weeks ago in person and he's got a damn rocket launcher. Every throw looks completely effortless and he seems to make good decisions. If the new regime here drafted either of those kids I'd be psyched
