There was a Philly sportswriter on tonight (NPR) talking about Vick. He said despite the great way he's playing, and his speaking at schools about how horrible the things he did were, that he (sportswriter) is still skeptical. He said it's fairly common among Philly fans to have very mixed feelings about Vick. They cheer his play but they're somewhat uncomfortable about it.

I think he is better because by his own admission, he didn't work out much, little film study - he just tried to get by on his athletic abilities in Atlanta. Now he does the weight work, film study, off season workouts and he's in shape plus he's become a student of the game which he never was before.

That said, I'd like him to be gang raped by a pack of dogs. :moon:

And used Beagles as bait dogs. It's all horrible, but when I saw one of the investigators carrying out a Beagle and they said bait dogs, as a Beagle owner for decades, it just was that last straw/camel's back thing. Fighters like to use Beagles because of their humbleness so they won't hurt their fighters much.

How do you describe a tenacious, overwhelming performance like that? Well, DeSean Jackson found one interesting way, referencing a pregame shoving match with several Redskins (from USA Today):

"The pregame altercation got us going. It had us ready. We came back into the locker room pumped," Jackson said, via the AP. "We were like pit bulls, ready to get out of the cage."

I don't think Carolina, who has a two-time assaulter as a team captain, would have been compromising any of their standards by siging Vick. I really do believe that Hurney just didn't believe he would be a good fit.

Then again, I would argue that Peyton Manning with Jeff Davidson and the current offensive line would have a 71.5 QB rating. You can't always look at a performance like Vick had on Monday and say: "Well, shit, if we had only signed him we would be 6-3." Their system is almost identical to that of which Vick ran with Mora/Knapp in Atlanta. Additionally, I put more stock into what Andy Reid and his offensive staff has done with regards to the forward pass than what our current staff has done/will continue to not do.

As the coach says, it's not just one thing. We suck at QB, coordinator, and blocking. Not a good trio.

I hated Ron Mexico before the all the dog killer stuff came out. He is great to have on your fantasy team but I would not want him here under any circumstances.

If we did have him he probably struggles. If Andy Reid were our coach I suspect our offense would be a lot better even with our band of rejects at QB.

One of the greatest individual football performances i've ever seen.

I will watch him as often as I can this year.

I would argue that a large portion people would actually give up their PSL's and take the financial loss if the Panthers signed Vick.
