And a decent OL protecting the QB and a functional running game...

Imagine if we believed in the forward pass?

yeah. I mean, I know people are shitting on Clausen/Pike and that's fine, there's nothing positive there right now. Hopefully the next staff will take better care of them. But for rookies, our WRs are solid.

They have showed some promise and were not huge investments (apart from Edwards). A 3rd and 6th rounder. Some people like grabbing the top WR AJ Green some don't. I'd probably lean away from taking him because of the history of top WR's. Arguments can be made for him though. Its early and silly to talk about the draft but whatever. Like i said these WR's aren't large investments and if they think AJ Green is the best player on the board why not take him? While our rookie WR's are playing well they aren't blowing anyone out of the water right? They are still double and triple teaming the hell out of Smitty and making it work. Just saying.

I think they ought to play Edwards - he wasn't any worse than Lafell or Gettis in the pre-season, you can't get better if you don't play. In fact, he might be the best quarterback on our roster right now, they could give him a try at the actual position he played in college. At this point, we have nothing to lose.

I think we might see more of him. The way things are going, it's only a matter of time till another QB gets hurt.

I really wouldn't want us to invest a high pick in another WR. Both Gettis and LaFell are looking like they could pan out and we really don't know about Edwards yet. He could be badass.

I didn't like the price we paid (and especially now that it could end up being the 33rd pick) but he could still possibly turn out to be worth it. I don't get people bitching loudly and repeatedly about him not contributing THIS year, it should have been immediately obvious to people that pay attention that he was gonna likely be redshirted or at least not get on the field in a hurry. Well, I do understand the disappointment over him failing miserably as a returner, I felt that too, but not as a WR.

Might as well give him a shot at QB. Like you said, nothing to lose.
