Fox is the greatest Panther coach at this point

But Capers was the greastest untill Fox came along

And someone else now has the opportunity to be the greatest once Fox leaves

    It's time for a change

I am not crying because Fox will be gone. If I were going to bet on it though I would bet the next coach is not as successful in his tenure here as Fox has been.

Losing a tightly contested home playoff game vs. Arizona would have been one thing. Giving up 30 points at the half, at home, with all the pieces right there for you, against a mediocre team, was shameful.

More shameful were the 0-3 and 0-5 starts to open up the following two seasons. Fox will say things like "we were able to finish the season 8-5 in 2009 despite losing our starting QB."

Frankly, those are the kind of comments/results that people like Belichick, Reid, Coughlin--you know, top-5 coaches--giggle at.

We lost a home playoff game to a team that had a hall of fame QB and the best WR in the game at that time. That team also went to the superbowl that year and within inches of winning it. Get over it.

This year has been a train wreck but a lot of that is because we had a salary dump and then did nothing to fill the void. No coach was going to be successful with this team this year.

How many top five coaches have had to work with QBs like Peete, Delhomme, Carr, Moore?

Top 5 coaches are top 5 because they know how to evaluate and don't sign/draft guy's like Peete, Delhomme, Carr, Moore

    This is a business, too.

I would embrace Fox as our coach for 20 years. But, per the total body of work, not for a dime more than he makes now.

Fox is overrated. Judge him for his total body of work if you want to make yourself feel better. But he lacks vision and an ability to adjust his scheme for the personnel at hand. The league has passed him by.

One thing I do respect Fox for is his ability to make do with lesser talent. His fundamentals are strong and that allows for a consistent competitiveness. "Keep chopping wood." The philosophy has worked for the "body" of his work.

But it's time. Carolina needs fresh air in that locker room.

Agreed, really the only year I would give Fox a pass would be this year.

agree. Coach salaries are out of control too, there's some shitty coaches making great money. It shouldn't be about money, but you don't give every guy who's decent

on the other hand, there's plenty of times we've had guys who "weren't worth it", and we screwed the pooch replacing them.
Howard Griffith, Kris Jenkins, Muhsin Muhammad, Deon Grant, even Jeno James. Getting rid of Peppers, Delhomme, Fox is one thing, but you have to fill that hole.

The hard part is having a fantastic working defense, that would be better next year with another year of growth on the DL and a good DT. But we got half of them being cheap, and wouldn't extend any of them when they deserved it, and they'll be available to go with the current coach simply by flashing money.

I read a rumor, and I'll be honest, I don't buy that they guy has legit connections, but stating Meeks can't communicate and that Fox is meddling with the defense again. If so, fucker should go down the hall and do something about this fucking offense.
