What's really sad is that Singletary would probably give him the job had he just made a stand about it since it shows grit or moxie or passion or whatever the fuck Mike thinks is the most important thing in a QB.

 

Remarkable that they've been in this many close games, have Frank Gore, and are ranked 27th in the NFL in rushing attempts per game. Yet--they're popping it at 4.1 a carry, which is not bad.

I think their slide is a result of the "missing stopwatch".

Always wondered why the fuck an NFL Head Coach would ever sport a stopwatch around his neck during a game, other than to look more important and involved than he really might be.

 

one of the more annoying bitches way back in high school was this frizzy haired girl who played all the HS sports that somewhat fat girls could play, which apparently included basketball. Her father, who was fat and frizzy haired, showed up to every game with a clipboard and stopwatch.

He wasn't a coach, so in the rare event I showed up to a ballgame it weireded me the fuck out.

Alex Smith is a good QB from spread-like formations, but that's not what they need. Keeping Shaun Hill might have been wise.

I do like the move to Troy Smith. I think it gives them a chance to be more balanced with their formations, and also makes defenses defend the backside on running plays. Doubt it can save their season but it's worth a shot.
