He's on Sirius NFL Radio right now with Bob Papa, and he's about to jizz his pants about coaching the Panthers.

He absolutely wants that job.

i guess that's better than 'We are what we are'.

 

Marty would fall under that category that every local media yahoo says would not "fit the mold" of what Richardson wants (over 50, high price, etc).

Marty's son has gotta be the leader in the clubhouse. Love him or hate him, Brian's dad lives in Charlotte, and it would be ideal to not only land your first head coaching gig, but to do it right down the road from your parents' house.

Or they could just hire Harbaugh.

 

Marty Schot is basically the same guy as John Fox. Why make a change if you are going to bring in a guy who does almost exactly the same thing you already do?

Well, you see, everywhere Marty has traveled (less Washington), he did two things:

1. Turn around a shitty team fast.
2. Make the playoffs consistently.

Yes, he lost in the playoffs a lot. At this point, I'd be ok with that.

 

I'm not totally against the idea of an aging guy with an heir apparent but that hasn't worked out in a while.


you could very well get Phillips with him again, but then that means Phillips as the next coach, and the 3-4.

Much rather have Harbaugh. Only hanging point I'd see there is that college coaches do make good money, so you can't pull this $1 mil a year shit like we did with Fox initially (that also cost us Weis).
