Not only is QB the main problem, it's the main problem by miles.

Just ask Ron Meeks about his statistics, and check our average field position on offense. Clausen sucks, even if he's a rookie. He's not ready, and I fucking hate losing. So, start Moore.

Peyton Manning might be able to get something out of the stooges we have playing the WR position, but a young QB, let along a rookie? Would Sanchez look as good as he has this year without all the experience and talent around him?

We played three rookies and some guy we picked up off the street at WR last week. Jeebus. This isn't a situation that a any young QB can succeed in.

Not saying Jimmy didn't suck dick last week, he needs to sit until he can figure out how to hand the ball off without fumbling every other play. But I'd say our problems at reciever outweight our sucky QBs.

I'd boo too. Given a chance, he would show Moore and especially Clausen how to play quarterback. The only thing that holds him back is his size. The league has changed. It's no longer about defense and running. It's about the pass and scoring points. Panthers have to open up the playbook or we'll see more seasons like this.

Agent says Kiper inflated Clausen's rating

There were no Panthers – current or former – named in the Sports Illustrated tell-all article by sports agent Josh Luchs, who admitted paying dozens of college football players over the past 20 years.

But during Luchs’ appearance on Dan Patrick’s radio show Wednesday, Panthers quarterback Jimmy Clausen’s name was pulled into the conversation.

Luchs used to work for Gary Wichard, the California-based agent whose relationship with former North Carolina assistant John Blake has come under NCAA scrutiny.

In the SI article, written by George Dohrmann, Luchs insinuates Wichard used his friendship with ESPN draft analyst Mel Kiper to get Kiper to inflate the ratings of his clients – a charge that Kiper has denied.

Before this year’s draft, Kiper rated Clausen, a Wichard client, as the best quarterback available and fourth-best player overall. Meanwhile, Scouts, Inc.’s Todd McShay (another ESPN draftnik) ranked Clausen as the draft’s 38th best player, 35 spots below Oklahoma quarterback Sam Bradford.

On Patrick’s show, Luchs said he believes Kiper inflated Clausen’s ranking.

It seems Kiper’s influence is likewise overrated: Clausen fell to the second round as the 48th overall pick – 47 spots behind Bradford and 23 below Tim Tebow, the second quarterback taken.

Not really. 8 of the top 10 rushing teams have a winning record. The top 3 passing teams are a combined 5-9. Unless you have a QB named Manning or Brady, the successful teams in the NFL run the football at a high level.

Same thing on defense. The Chargers are the only sub .500 team with a top 10 run defense.

All we really need is passing efficiency. We can't go wildcat (or Mountaineer) every down, and we can't be a 3 wide team every down. But using more stick routes from 2 TE shouldn't be that hard, or a swing pass to the backs. We probably should be doing more passing plays on 1st down from running looks. That's a pretty simple way to keep the opponent off balance, while being high percentage.

What happens if we end up hiring Harbaugh from Stanford, and he wants to bring Andrew Luck with him ?
