Agreed it was dumb but i dont think it was dumb on the coaching staff's part. The players assumed they had it and half of the defense went running down the field so they kind of forced the coaching staff to challenge or to play goal-line d with 6 players.

yep..the coach should have had someone in the booth reviewing whether to challenge it or not. Or more precisely, if it could be overturned. Players always think they made the play.

Dont erase it. I had the Chicago playoff game on my DVR for a long time. Had to get a new DVR and lost it. That game was so awesome for so many reasons.

Somebody watch the Fox presser on panthers.com @ 12:30 today (I don't know if I can catch it). Then let us know the good stuff. It should be especially good and informative today.

    No.
Nobody is going to convince me that:

    1. Fox agrees with the hand he has been dealt.
    2. Richardson is underspending to make a point.
    3. Hurney is not the man running the show--with Big Cat.

I firmly believe that, inside 800 S. Mint Street, Fox is not working any more or less diligently on improving the execution side of the game. I believe he has integrity, unlike Butch Davis, who just had enough and quit.

Fox does a great job of saying all the right things, and keeping his marbles in his jar, but the post-game comments (and the tone in which they were delivered) did not indicate to me that he, as a coach, has any hope. Hurney, as I said, repeatedly took ownership of things--which is good that he is accountable, but is also a sign of a man who is marking his territory as the chief football operations man.

With all of that said, the lack of professionalism in the front office over the course of 6-8 months has led to some of this shitty play on the field. And when your highly-paid veterans are the ones, week after week, shitting themselves, then how can the rooks possibly take their lead?

It's a lost locker room. It's almost a consensus from anyone who covers the team, including paid employees like Mike Craft and Ethan Horton.

As they say, winning is the ultimate deodorant. One win, executed with focus and precision, can lead to the same kind of viral effect that the poor play has led to, in the opposite direction.

2011, I feel there will be football, and I honestly believe that JR wants to win. And I don't think this is too different that a family saying "ok, look, we're going to eat rice and beans for several months so when we want to take that vacation to Wally World, we will have the money on hand to do it." I don't even want to get into the free agent list for 2011, but he will spend money next season, and it will be with the same GM, and and new, probably younger head coach (will be a defensive coach, and will be someone who, as JR said in 2002 "can put the energy back into the stadium").

McDermott would be a leader in the clubhouse for that type. If JR goes young, and goes with an offensive coach, it's:

    1. Harbaugh
    2. Marty's boy

    or, the darkhorse:

no where to go but up...

doesn't see a need for coaching changes...

doesn't feel it's relivent to compare TD Jesus situation to David Carr

    Matt moved the ball.. "sorta"

to early to say who the starter will be

    the other team practices too.

asked about expanding the Mountaineer role. "we'll look at everything to move up from 32"

passing game will be pretty big emphasis in practice this week

Jordan Pugh, stepped up, couple of plays he'd like have back, but overall did pretty well

no idea if Otah will be back after bye
