I'm still very curious--more curious than excited--about what will end up happening from now until Jan 1.

Fox is gone, and it's not going to shock me if he's gone by Friday of this week. Perhaps on a mutual parting of ways.

Not that it would help a fucking thing.

I would prefer this coach to start Matt Moore, begin to regenerate some of the good vibes from late 2009, and begin to win some games. Moore looked retarded in week one (but so did Eli--probably more retarded at times).

We lost to Tampa because our defense refused to tackle. Moore missed a couple tosses, no doubt, but the timing of the Clausen entry, in hindsight, was poorly thought out, as have been most of the team's strategies since August.

I'm going to keep going to these games, because I did it in 2001, and 2002, and when we started winning again, it made it feel that much better.

    Plus, I'm rather loyal.

I don't know who really pulled the trigger on Clausen starting, but it seemed to me it was done mostly in reaction to the fans booing Moore.

Stupid fans. Yes Moore played badly but the big picture is it's the damned OL and green WR corps that's at the root of the problems, compounded by the decision to focus on the passing game all offseason, at the obvious expense of our only real offensive strength. It ain't rocket surgery, a strong running game is a QB's best friend (and a defense's too).

I think the concussion sped it up. Clausen played just good enough to keep playing.

I do like Clausen, but would prefer to see him on the bench for a while. It is hard enough for a rookie to learn on a good team, but when WRs aren't running their routes and the Oline isn't blocking, it has to make it harder.

On the other hand, I'm ready for Fox to go. We keep talking about rookies and a green team, but our defense is largely the same defense. They've been playing OK, but there are still times when the defense looks completely lost. The offense always looks that way. Special teams look good except on about 2 costly games per play. The whole team plays inconsistently and that points to a lack of coaching and discipline.

Everyone is blaming the loss of veterans, but to be honest, we played like shit for parts of last year too. We usually had one good drive per game and the rest was a lot of 3 and outs. We desperately need some coaching, be it the coordinators or the head coach. There needs to be some changes made.

I don't really give a fuck either, but I'll still watch the games. I won't be wasting my money at the stadium anymore, though. I'll suffer in front of the TV.

    Sometimes here, sometimes there

Definitely, easier and cheaper to drink more and better beer and not have to drive home.
