Just said "well, we really don't have to look at the tape here"

Also said (paraphrasing) it really doesn't matter who we put in at qb.

He sounded completely defeated. Called the team "dumb".....it actually made me laff as I roast in traffic on south blvd

He's probably hoping Richardson fires him soon so he doesn't have to watch any more of this shit.

Link? I just watched a video where he was talking, but he said none of that...maybe I watched a shortened version?

He does look defeated, doesn't he.

I saw a lot of discouraged players (mostly offense) quite early in the game.

It was literally 10 minutes after he addressed his team, with Mick and Eugene on the network. He was as candid as ever.

Not that it should be seen as some sort of signal, other than he's royally pissed that his last season as the coach of Carolina is chock-full of shit. He often says things like:

"well, we're working with what we've got"

    or

"there's not much we can do about it, other than go with what we have"

    Rex Ryan translation service:

"What the shit is this fucking shit? Why the fuck am I stuck with nothing but rookies and retards at the two hardest positions to learn? Do you just want me to fucking fail?"

We're short on talent. Very short. And, by the way, despite my own pre-mature excitement about Clausen, Moore is the best QB on our roster, and has proven he can play ball. We were all frustrated after week 2, but Clausen's attitude, throwing motion, and David Carr-like inability to stand tall in the few pockets that exist are really not good signs.

Fox hates Jerry because Jerry went cheap and refused to bend with this labor horseshit. Gantt, and others close to it, say the same thing: there is a "philosophical difference" between the two parties (Coach/Owner).

Last word: Hurney does his weekly spot on the Wrap-Up Show each week. It's my favorite 10 minutes of my ride home, not only for his miserable voice, but for his usual candor. For the first time that I can recall, he mentioned the phrase "my team" at least 4-5 times in that segment--taking the blame for the problems, but making it very clear that it was "his team." Didn't mention anything about coaching, or playcalling, or Fox. Just was very honest about how poor of a job he's done assembling a team that can compete.

If you can't get to the last 1/2 of the 4th quarter within one score in your games, you lose hope. 80% of our games in 2010 have been this way, and it's exhausting. 2003 and 2008 were full of wins in the last 2 minutes.

Now, we have not a chance, because before we can turn around, the big boys (our NFL opponent) have lapped our college team.

Demoralizing to me? No. It's just what JR chose to do, because it's his show and he makes the calls. Not Fox, not Hurney.

We'll see in 2011, and beyond, how serious this ownership is about winning. I think they are. But 2010 just set up horribly, and now, we have a lost locker room.

I was 4 rows up, and can confirm it. It was like a fucking funeral.

Sounds like Fox is in full, It's not my fault. It may not be, since I doubt he agreed to not sign a RG who had shown they could play, etc. Still, it's interesting. I'm guessing he may not feel the need to make any adjustments, since, you know, it's not his fault.

I dunno. All I know is he called his team "dumb", which got Bill Callahan in deep shit in a similar season. And, yes, he is losing patience each week. He doesn't appear to be galvanizing a damn thing, but he's probably coaching with a real sour taste in his mouth about how ownership has cut some of his trusted veterans and failed to replace them with other, capable vets.

Watching our team attempt to run the football from 4 rows up today was depressing. Chicago looked like they were double our size, which they probably are. We looked slow, tired, poorly conditioned, and uninspired on every level.

Sad, and it will be interesting to see what happens, because Fox (for all his faults) has never had a purely shitty, Rod Marinelli/Scott Linehan type-season. I'm fucking disappointed that he's not managing things better, because as young as they are, they're not this fucking bad.
