they need to keep it at 16 games and cut the price on preseason games. of course that will not happen because it means giving up money

I am not in favor of this but at least we'll get to see the starters for the two new real games. Watch them raise tickets due to the increase of regular season games.

I wonder if the players will hold on to wanting to raise the rosters if the longer season come around.

Players bodies got to be taking additional beating with 2 more games.

    Another bye week?

everything i've read about it indicates the league is not keen on starting the season before labor day weekend. so certainly the superbowl will be later, and might make for different superbowl games in some of those northern outdoor stadiums if that becomes a new trend.

i realize on the surface the intention is to eliminate paying full price for meaningless games. but that's the reason they should cut the price on preseason tickets. we have meaningless games now at the end of the season, with starters being benched for playoffs, at full price, and those will still be there, maybe even more so now. hooray for false value.

same here. Wonder if there is a way to cut the two preseason games and add two more byes so that the last few weeks of the regular season are guaranteed to be important rather than all but decided like it is now. Maybe push all the division games to the end of the season or something.

Goodell talked about trying to add more division games at the end of the season and this years schedule is leaning that way (week 17 is all division games) but they also have to balance them throughout the year to keep ratings/interest up.

if they have all division games week 17, we're more likely to see the same two teams play each other two weeks in a row... but in theory help eliminate teams benching starters the final week
