can't agree . .. the respective O-lines for both sucked. Not a great deal of pass protection going on, especially for jimmy. AND when you add in receivers that are blowing routes and/or can't get much separation whoever is at QB is not going to get much of a chance to shine

Yeah, well, I guess that's true - let's just say their stats sucked.

Call me crazy, but I saw LaFell giving way to the Jets dood who came up with the interception. If he didn't lay up there would've at least been a collision.

    Just my two cents' worth...

I swear, I was more upset with the WRs than anything else, offensively. LaFell is a rookie, so let's have a reality check on the expectations there. Moore made a nice grab but generally isn't getting it done. Jarrett will at least fight for and, more often than not, come down with the ball. If he sucks, the rest of them suck worse.

OL, we were blitzed a lot (which traditionally is a bad thing) but with no game planning etc., I am willing to partially overlook the blown pickups for now.

Edwards blows though. Just before the first blunder I was telling my GF he didn't know what he is doing, bastard didn't make me wait long to be proven right.

Who was the return guy we had a couple of years ago that wasn't fast but got us consistent positive yardage? That we didn't bring back? Priorities in the return game should be re-assessed.

mark jones. we cut him and he went to the titans but couldn't pass the physical. don't recall him catching on again anywhere, although he still could be around.

I've been on the Clausen band wagon since we first drafted him. Moore began the starter almost literally because Fox got all the way down to the kitchen sink. I'm surprised he didn't try to play the sink.

Moore is ok. I think he's just ho-hum and completely forgettable. He'll shuffle through the entire season being (yawn) average. Unless he gets hurt I'll be surprised if Fox ever pulls him because he probably won't suck that bad. He just won't be that good.

I don't think Clausen is a better starter right now but I do think if you start him by mid-season he'll be twice as good as Moore is now with 10x the potential.

Moore looks almost bored and robotic back there. Clausen, even with so little NFL experience, looks in command of the QB position. I see nothing that makes me want to start Moore over Clausen.

I think the QB's that have problems adjusting to the NFL and being able to start early is all about the mental aspect of the game. Between Jimmy's pedigree in football as his experience in an NFL system I don't worry about pushing him out there too soon.

His knees are pretty beat up but he finally got let go by Tennessee after a neck injury. Probably not something to take a risk with.

Not saying we should bring Jones (thanks) back, just get someone steady.

i think he hate me was the last player we had that returned a kick for a score. i'm pretty certain he's available.

the thing is there's no good reason why this has been a problem for a few seasons now. returning kicks and punts and decent coverage and preventing blocks has long been the bread and butter of late round and undrafted fodder. so either we are on an incredible streak of selecting the wrong type of player for these roles, or there is an incredible streak of coaching failure in preparation and positioning. it's bad, it's been bad, and it stays bad.

those stats are good, but skewed... we beat Tampa who sucked, we lost to NE who was fighting for a play-off spot, and then we beat Minn, NYG, and NO who I think had already made the play-offs...

finishing the season on a high note like he did, entering camp as the starter, 4th season as a pro... I should see him in more control of this offense, not highlites of him playing golf saying I'm a regular guy

Clausen and Moore on paper shouldn't even be close. Moore is the clear choice... but on film, I'm seeing a physically more capable QB in Clausen, more poise, better handle on the playbook, quicker release, stronger arm, quicker feet...

they both have 35 QB rating this preseason... the only offensive points or anything close to an offensive TD, have come while Clausen was at QB
