    From ESPN Insider:
While we don't like to call a testicular contusion a minor injury, in the grand scheme of things it could have been much worse and both the Tampa Bay Rays and Carl Crawford -- and the fanbase -- can breathe a sigh of relief that the left fielder will not miss significant time after being hit in the groin area with a pickoff throw.

Crawford could return as early as Wednesday but Marc Topkin of the St. Petersburg Times notes that it's more likely the all-star will return Friday when the team opens a weekend series in Cleveland.

Should things chance and Crawford lands on the disabled list, the Rays are likely to go with an outfield of B.J. Upton, Ben Zobrist and Matt Joyce, with Sean Rodriguez regularly, perhaps rotating between second base and DH with Reid Brignac. Prospect Desmond Jennings could also be summoned from Triple-A to cover the roster spot.
