We don't know that we've addressed that yet. Brown has shown flashes, but we've got little more than hope right now on the defensive line.

True. But if we had taken a stud DE in this draft at 48 wouldn't he still be unproven without even the flashes? Taking Brown last year was our draft pick for when Peppers left regardless of when Peppers actually left. And just on general purposes Sapp is a buffoon.

    I'd say that's a pretty good probability.

    - Robert McClain was not invited to the NFL Combine, but had a strong showing at the UConn pro day, running a 4.42 forty yard dash, and turning heads with a 38-inch vertical jump and 23 reps on the bench press at 225 pounds.

A gifted size/speed athlete who possesses an explosive initial burst, Gettis has the ability to consistently threaten defenders downfield. He showcases the ability to reach a second gear and is smooth and balanced for his size. I wouldn't consider him a strider at all. He does a nice job driving corners up the field and has the body control to cleanly stop on a dime and find the ball. Gettis has impressive shiftiness and lateral mobility for his size after the catch. However, he's a bit of a head case and lacks concentration in all areas of the game. He will put the ball on the ground and isn't a natural plucker. His inability to consistently catch the ball is his biggest flaw. Gettis is still learning how to run routes and gets overextended trying to change directions, wasting too much motion out of his breaks. He has a tendency to gear down out of his breaks, but does a nice job of finding soft spots vs. zone coverage. He's an explosive leaper who has the ability to go up and fight for the ball. Gettis possesses a rare athletic skill set for his size but is raw and needs to learn how to catch the ball. He has the upside to start at the next level, but the question is: Does he want to work hard enough to get there.
