    Thanks. The fleur-de-lis appliques on top were a necessary late "design element" I added to cover the fact that the concealed hinges I chose broke through the top of the lid. I wanted the lid to be thicker from the beginning, but I convinced myself that 3/8" would be enough. Should've gone with my instincts.

    you do good work hasbeens! I need some furniture done. I need a dresser ...everything out there is such crap. I need something sturdy...that can take a beating.
