But even this past season, our run game seemed to be better when he was playing. Sigh, not surprised, but he'll be missed!!!

It sucks, he was a good guy and a good player for us for a long time. I hope he does get to play somewhere else if he still wants to play. Seems like we are full on in the youth movement now.

always liked Hoover. heres a blurb from December

    http://www.charlotteobserver.com/2009/12/28/1147667/hoovering-up-the-giants.html

Hoover, who was undrafted in 2000 after a star career at Western Carolina, said games like Sunday make him want to stay at it. He's got one season left on his contract. The Panthers drafted Tony Fiammetta last spring with the intention of his one day replacing Hoover.

"I have every intention of playing the last season of my contract," Hoover said. "It just depends on how I feel and on how they evaluate me, whether I can still play in this league or not."

    it's official

Damn. I’m starting to agree with the guys who think it’s all about finances. Gearing up for no football in 2011 and still having to pay rent, etc. Be able to be a buyer in 2012. They’ll hang onto a lot of rooks they draft and will pick up some rook FA’s and claim some cheap guys waived off other teams. If they get a vet FA for this year, it’ll be a one year deal and cheap.

Smitty has got to be pissed about all this. Perhaps they trade him (if he demands it)?

So, not being a ticket-holder (had to give that up when my boys go into sports), what do you do now? If they put scrubs on the field do you have to still pay for your tickets in 2011?

To answer my own question, I guess you did in 2009, so why would 2011 be any different?

The silver lining in all this is that it does not look like the purge we are going through is going to hurt the team. The only really stand out player we have lost is Peppers and his departure has been a long time coming. I look for us to be decent next year as long as Moore pans out.

Yes, I thought he made a noticeable difference. I guarantee DW is pissed about this.

He was really starting to develop into a true blocking fullback, which is something we needed for a long time. I'm surprised to see us do this now. I think some of it might have to do with special teams.
