yeah, I definitely attribute a lot of it to Carey.

I mean, the idea that we did offer him per the press, but he kept saying we didn't even contact is on Peppers for saying it. But it's also bullshit to say "$6 million over the first four years" was all that kept it from happening but it wasn't about money.

see, I like Pep. But stop saying dumb shit.

    http://www.panthers.com/team/history/pro-bowl.html

he didn't make the Pro Bowl until after the Super Bowl year. By that time Rucker had two different Player of the Month awards and a trip to Hawaii; Jenkins had two.

We sent 28 slots to the Pro Bowl, including two QBs by that time.

And the comments about communication - wasn't it Carey (and Pep) who were talking to the press about negotiations every time, while the Panthers refused public comment because this was between the organization & Carey/Pep?

As to the implication it "was just me in Carolina", even at your best, I'd take a Thomas Davis & Jon Beason any day of the week. While they may not have the same physical abilities, they DO have the killer instinct and the give it all you have every snap attitude.

And I'm not overly familiar with the Bears these days, but please list all the other superstars on defense?

And I know it was before Pep's day or any of our current D, but one year we sent 7 and that was about 1/2 our starting defense. Irrelevant but they're irritating me now.

Well, it's done now. Time to get behind Johnson or Brown.

Ain't that the truth, though...I couldn't have been happier to see the last of #17 in a Panthers jersey, but I've got nothing but respect for him as a person and even as the player he was for the best part of his career.

Peppers? I've got nothing but contempt for that POS. How could anybody respect somebody like that?

People either have class, or they don't.

    Meanwhile, as for "respecting" Peppers:
Oh, yes. Gilbert is supposed to "respect" Peppers right off the bat, huh? Or else?

His Holiness is just so God. Damn. sanctimonious...expects his "inferiors" to bow down and kiss his...ring. Nice way to get started with your new teammates, idiot. Respect is earned, baby, and you ain't got what it takes to earn it.

the probability of da bears going down da toilet (over the next 3 or 4 years especially) went through the roof when peppy was signed. High paid high profile leaders are supposed to be the "team first" glue of your team . .. he and cutler are going to be more like acetone than glue and my personal prediction is zero playoff appearances for those two in chicago

Screw this overpaid lazy Chicago Bear. We can laugh at him when we whip his ass in Charlotte this fall.
