I believe he is. I plan to submit a bid for $200, $50 Red Robbins gift card and $5 book of McDonald's coupons.

completely untrue. Otherwise, all NFL teams would be valued the same.

    ha

I dunno. I think plenty of people are reading so much extra into this. They had no market for trade, they couldn't sign him long term so they let him go. I'd have enjoyed a draft pick, it didn't happen. The idea that this suddenly turns into a conspiracy because of it? no.

    back to actual, tangible things:

I'm not actually afraid of Peppers signing with Atlanta. Good, do it. If Atlanta wants to immediately give more than we would, so they can beat out all the theoretical suitors that probably won't pay that, so that they can build their weakening defense around him and assume that it's enough? Good. Cripple their cap for years replacing that slug Anderson they drafted the year we got Beason? Good. Still no answer at OLB, DT? Good. Let him come off the edge and make an occasional sack or run down Williams twenty yards downfield. We'll pound the middle and we'll knock his ass down on sweeps.

Gross has faced him for seven years. Wharton's had his shots at him. He knows us? Well, we know him. We made him. He doesn't have some new tricks after eight years.

Ideally, my hope is still that he'll get two weeks in, the lack of $10 mil offers will be a truth, and we'll match the offer from Philadelphia for around $12 million that inevitably comes. Otherwise, I don't fear him leaving for nearby pastures.

That all sounds good . . . I likes it!

Hadn't thought about this possibility . . . but It's hard for me to see peppy/carey come crawling back with tail tucked. If they did they would probably want that silly deal that was offered by our guys early that "just barely" made him the highest paid D player. Whatever the panters would pay him I'd bet he'd play all pouty and butt-hurt and never earn much of it.

So we still have the option to match any offer? I am still watching teams like Washington that routinely throw stupid money away

k I thought +I thought I had missed something and the Panthers had the right to match an offer. The only thing the Panthers can do is bid like everyone else. I have three Peppers Jerseys and still wondering what I can do to the name plate to express my frustration

yeah, no right of refusal. Just the idea he may not cash in as quickly as he thinks, or possibly as richly, which leaves a more open door.

Or Chicago and Cleveland bid on him and he joins shitty defenses.
