Something I read on PFT made me think about this.

If that's the case, wouldn't cutting Delhomme in a no cap year caue no cap hit and in turn save the Panthers his salary?

but if we cut him then how can fox bring him back as the starter next season? i mean he lost his job because of injury. not performance.

It would remove the cap hit but his money is guaranteed.

Right. His base for next season is $1.625 million so they would save that. But he is still owed over $12 million in guaranteed monies.

I agree with Cosmik,,,,,,,,,, cutting Delhomme is the furthest thing from Fox's mind...

I really doubt that Fox ends up starting Delhomme over Moore after what happened last season. If we have to pay Jake though we might as well keep him around as the backup. Even though his arm is shot he can probably help Moore and the rest of the offense from the sidelines.

If you want to keep him around that badly then give him some sham offensive consultant job rather than leave the potential he gets into the game.

It is not that I want to keep him around that much it is just that for $12 million I would like to see us get something.

If Moore goes down next year I am not sure that Jake would be worse than McCown or Feely.....
