I know Fox is a loyal stubborn coach but what did he see that convinced him that Matt Moore did not deserve at least a shot with Jake playing like a crackhead ? I don't think Moore is the next Peyton Manning or Kurt Warner but he has played well and at least deserves a shot at the starting job next year. The Jake extension was an outright panic move and the Peppers contract situation is still hanging over the franchise. Fox will be be back unless "The Chin" lets it be known that he would like the Panther job.

    Fox Did a Good Job?

How do you have 2 top RB's (Williams if he didn't split carries would be the best hands down, and Stewart top 15 or better right now.) One of the best and most underused WR in the game. One of the best O-lines in Football. Peppers, Beason, and Davis. and not ever put together Back to back winning seasons. No creativity in any game plan, no creative ways to get smith or williams or stewart the ball except a hand off or the "Smokescreen" play teams know is coiming.. At least Cowher could get the ball in his play maker’s hands like he did with Randal el. The fact is that fox is way too conservative for the talent he has. And I don’t blame Pep and Smith for wondering what they could have been somewhere else. Fox should have pulled Dellhomme and put moore in then we probably would have won at least 10 games and been a wild card. Cowher can at least get something out of our talent and maybe peppers won’t want leave and half ass it becasue he's wasting his time with meeks stupid shit.

Fox will be back, but I believe it will be for other reasons. Next year is Fox's last on his current contract. The year after may be lost to a lockout. Why would a good business man fire Fox now and replace him with a higher paid one when that coach may be sitting at home collecting a paycheck during the 2011 "No-football" season? IMO J.R. will let Fox coach his last year and thus, have no overhead at the coaching position during the lock-out.

But fuck it. Panthers won enough games to keep fox his job. ESPN reported Jake Dellhomme is 100% on the roster next year, and next should statistically be fox's good year. They let him coach out his contract, and peppers will walk and have a bad ass year probally with the saints., and the 1st bad game Moore has fox will put Dellhomme Back in. Blah blah blah.

IMHO, Moore didn't look confident and on target until the 4th quarter of the Minnesota game. Hopefully it's started clicking for him now, he's more confident etc.

He played a excellent game yesterday. But prior to the 4th of the Minnesota game, his throws were a bit innaccurate and he seemed to be questioning himself, such as the checking down to a run when he could have thrown that TD that he confessed up to in the news rags, or the look on his face when he would throw behind a receiver. Plus, didn't someone here, Mags maybe, mention there was a rumor from the lockerroom that he didn't fully know the playbook earlier this season and wasn't taking his job seriously? Regardless, he seems to be catching on now, but we're only looking at things with an outside view.

Moore is really starting to look solid, but those first several games wasn't showing what we saw yesterday.

Yeah, Jake screwed us this year, there's no doubt about it, but I think people need to get off that lynch mob, drool-spitting bandwagon.

I really think Jake's problem is with his arm. He can no longer put the ball where he wants it to go. Moore obviously can do that. I do not think Jake's decision making suddenly got a lot worse. If I have to choose between a veteran who has took me to a superbowl but is struggling with a shot arm or a guy who has started three games and does not seem to be putting in the work to learn the playbook I am probably going to do what Fox did. It is easy to look back and say Fox was wrong now that we know Moore is capable of playing this well.

Cowher and Fox may have similar philosophies...however, Cowher is much more successful at it. Fox is a .500 coach...why do we find that OK? No where else is a .500 winning percentage OK? I don't get it. Cowher should be here next year and we will move fast to get him with the possibility of the Bucs persuing him as well.

Cowher - .623, three losing seasons out of 15, 9 division wins, 2 conference wins, one superbowl win

Fox - .551 in 8 seasons, 4 losing seasons, 4 division wins, 1 conference win, )0 superbowls, no back to back winning seasons

Why do people never credit the steelers good drafting/front office with Cowher's success? They had to play a part but everyone assumes he shows up= winning!
