    DW should not be used up yet. His first two years he did not get a lot of carries. I am not sure I would give him a huge contract when we have Stewart though.

    It'll be about $7.5 million to Franchise him. 7 or so for Transition. That assumes those tags are still arround given the current CBA status. We would get more in return trading him this year rather than waiting IMO.

    I would rather pay him $7 million under the tag than pay Peppers $20....

    You miss the point. With the grumbling on the players side that normally accompanies the use of the tags, it's likely that there will end up being changes in the rules governing how the tags may be used. Basically, it may not be a choice between tagging Williams or Peppers. We might not be able to tag either. Would that make the smart choice to be get what you can this year?

    Has there actually been talk about reworking franchise tags in the new CBA or is this all speculation?
