Talk about wide open. There are two spots and there are now two teams at 8-6 and seven teams at 7-7. Nine teams with a real shot at a wild card with two games to go is pretty cool. Two division leaders are 9-5 which means that could in theory end at 9-7 which leaves the door open for them to get passed up or at least going to the tie breaker. It should be an interesting two weeks.

My prediction is that the winner of the Steelers vs. Ravens game will get in. I would pick the Titans for the other spot but they play the Chargers next. The Texans are a dark horse. I think Philly knocks Denver out this week.

The Titans are not going to the playoffs. Too many conference losses.

If they beat the Charger and go 9-7 here what has to happen for them to get in:

The Ravens beat the Steelers knocking them down to 8 losses.

    Jacksonville loses at New England

The Texans lose to New England

Dolphins lose to Texans or Steelers

Jets lose to either Indy or Cinncy

Denver loses to Philly and Oakland

Basically they need the favored team to win out and get an upset where Oakland beats Denver.

It is a stretch but it could happen.

Oakland already upset Denver, and they have no remaining games against them, perhaps you meant Kansas City.

I'd love to see the Titans pull it off, but a lot needs to happen, and I'm not sure if a team has ever made the playoffs with a losing conference record.

Denver started off 6-0, the Titans 0-6. If they finish with the same record it will be a shame to see Denver get in.

There are several ways Pittsburgh still makes the playoffs if they win out. They all involve Denver and Jacksonville losing at least one game out of the next 2 and then it would come down to tiebreakers. If they both lose this weekend and Baltimore beats Oak and Pitt beats Balt/Miami then they would both be out and Pitt and Baltimore would be in. In this one Tenn could win out and it wouldn't help.

The Titans are playing as well as anyone right now. Vince Young has turned his life around. Maybe shitting on the terrible towel actually yielded some benefits for once.
