This has to help Fox, compared to us taking an ass whipping.

We have no 1st rounder, we have a should not ever start for us again QB whose salary is an albatross and has no trade value, we have the Peppers situation, what top notch coach wants to step into that? Which kind of helps him too.

I believe he'll be retained to finish out his deal.

I honestly think it is in the best interest of our team to retain Fox. If he comes back next season and we have a decent offseason, which includes finding a solid QB (Moore or someone else) then I think we are back in the playoffs.

I don't think I am. We were 12-4 last year, and I remember quite a few people here acknowledging that the team was winning almost in spite of coaching. We have plenty of Pro Bowlers/All Pros on this team, but we've never had back-to-back winning seasons. I don't think that's too much to ask for.

quite a few people on here acknowledging something does not make it true....

Would you fire Jeff Fisher? Over the time that Fox has been Panthers head coach he is 69-57. Over that same time span Fisher is 68-58. Those numbers are through last weekends games.

During that same time Fox has been to a superbowl, and NFCG and made the playoffs three times over all. Fisher has been four times but no superbowl (his one superbowl was after the 1999 season) or an AFCG. Fisher's worst year was 3-13 and best was 13-3. Fox's worst was 7-9 and best was 12-4.

Jeff Fisher has nothing to do with whether or not Fox should be replaced.

Not directly but it helps give some perspective on how he has done here as our coach. As fans we tend to judge our coaches harsher than the rest of the league does. If you take that emotion out of it you have to admit Fox has done a pretty good job since he has been here. Lets not forget that he inherited a 1-15 team that had Chris Wienkie at QB and no one at running back to speak of.

He also inherited Jenkins, Rucker, Peppers, Buckner, smith, moose, massy, Morgan, and minter and some decently drug aided offensive linemen

when Fox arrived, the cupboard was basically bare and we were coming off of a 1-15 season. if the players were revolting that would be one thing, but apparently they are not so i think it would be beyond stupid to get rid of fox.

    We're stuck with Fox.

JR thinks he's Dan Rooney reincarnated, and has this vision of a franchise that never changes but always wins.
