I'm sure it was coming, but probably hastened by the Holmgren and Colbert whispers.

Really never thought this would happen. Would've also guessed that he would axe him to get a guy like Shanahan or Cowher but maybe Allen is temporary too. Edit: or Allen could be a desperation shot at Gruden.

I love the Skins. I just wanted to say that. Not in a "I want them to succeed" fashion as much as how hilarious their management is. Maybe Cerrato gone will change that, but the owner is still the owner.

I love reflecting back on the last change. You'd figure Joe Gibbs retiring would mean an easy transition - he even left a solid team in place. Heir apparent in place, fifty different assistant/associate head coaches, you move a guy a desk over and you let him hire a new position coach.

The way they botched the last one gives me infinite hope for how much they can screw this one up. My ideal screwup would be to see them openly feud with Gruden during the upcoming game, get rebuffed by Cowher, and then sometime in February they'll hire Sherm Lewis fulltime.

When they let Marty Schotenhiemer go I gave up any thought that the skins would ever be any good again as long as the current owner is in place. Gibbs coming back was a shocker and made me re-think it a bit but it was only a short term thing.

It is sad because I pulled for the skins when I was a kid, before there were a Panthers.

    Radio was fun today.

Someone on Czaban's show said Gruden's contract with ESPN is "ironclad" and gives him ZERO chance for the Skins job.

On another show, a local TB writer basically said there was no way in hell that Allen is coming without Gruden.

I have no idea who may be correct, but the only two names thrown around all day were Shanahan and Gruden.
