He's the popular sleeper pick at QB, which doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Someone on here was pimping his stats as being similar to Roethlisberger's in college. Other than that I haven't seen much.

haven't seen anything to suggest he's anything past another spread guy. Arm looks better than it is because he plays in it. Accuracy looks better than it is because he plays in it.

He makes good decisions but he's being fed half the decisions. Doesn't operate from under center.

I really don't know. One of these spread guys will separate himself - maybe McCoy in the championship game, or maybe one of these others because of a great Senior Bowl under center. Maybe Tebow will run a fast 40. I don't know. In the meantime it's hard to distinguish between these fifty different fucking spread guys who look accurate, smart, and strong and yet the tape shows they could as easily be Ken Dorsey.

if you want a sleeper, Skelton of Fordham.

I dunno. It looks like the 2010 draft class will be decided almost completely at combine throwing events and all-star games.

What sucks is those are pretty overrated, and we've seen that the combine events can be coached.

I read some blog from a Central Michigan source saying he doesn't make the longer throws and questioned by his own fans that he could be effective in the NFL

Claussen could become the top prospect based on not being from the spread.

oh, definitely. Which is so worrisome. It may signify nothing.

the non-spread thing certainly had to boost Sanchize.

Used to be it was only the option fucking prospects up. Now it's most offenses out there.

Too bad Collin isn't here to clean it all up for us. His "I predicted every QB in the NFL..." schtick got old and I'd love to hear his take on him calling Leinart the most complete prospect in some time (we agreed we both liked him a lot more than Young) but he had a lot to add on this anyway.

yup. The ND scheme/CW has given him a head start on the 6 or 7 other possible NFL prospects. Based on their college careers its hard to call this QB class weak but aside from Claussen their is no probable franchise guy IMO.
If he was the only QB to go in the first round I wouldn't be too surprised.

I don't really think he's the best but he could emerge as the top guy just because of the Weis thing

That certainly worked for Brady Quinn.

I'm not sure I see a lot of evidence that GMs are adverse to guys from the spread. The QBs, like Young, may take longer to develop. But that alone won't knock them down.
