Carolina is the likey destination as Bill Cowher makes plan for his return to the NFL per NFL Countdown. They mentioned that the Panther's new president is from Woolford..and Cohwer's daughter is a freshman there.

I would love to see him here!!

Now who the hell is going to be our QB??

Uh...that was 14 years to a Superbowl WIN...he had been there before...not to mention winning seasons every year except two. What more can you ask for than winning on a regular basis as opposed to this up and down each year for us at the moment.

Cowher always had his teams in the mix.

Always except for those two losing seasons.

Cowher and Fox are incredibly similar coaches, I really think people would be disappointed if he came here.

I think he would be a great fit here and I disagree...I think most peopel would welcome him here.

And I don't see how Cowher and Fox are alike...

Peopel always welcome the new coach, they think he's above reproach because he isn't the last guy and I'm not sure about the fit since we don't have the personnel to run his defense.

Well, they are both run-first defensive minded coaches with a penchant for standing behind bad QBs, but Cowher won a super bowl once so that forgives all those AFC championships he blew.

Oddly enough he does fit well in offensively. It's defensively where it would make no fucking sense.

Which, I'm sure plenty of people will be disappointed but we're probably going to be very similar schematically again. At most I could see a little difference on O - I could see a WCO here or what we have now. A WCO would fit with our talent, aside from the fuckups DW has had in the passing game, and would probably ease in a new QB. That's about the only difference I could see.

But in general, the idea of a run-first, defense led team is and should be where we are. The biggest thing I'm looking forward to in that potential future is good special teams play.

I've heard Kirwan say he's not going to coach this year.
I've heard rumors he has no interest in coaching a team without an established QB.

Personally I think that's a bigger situation than the "he lives in Raleigh and people think our owner is obsessed with the Steelers." I actually got something interesting out of a Tom Sorenson article - one in which he somehow suggested for us Marc Trestman - in which the statement was that the Steelers, each time over the last 40 years they've had three coaches, hired those three coaches in their thirties, fresh new coaches. Not retreads from someone else's team.
