IF Fox gets the axe

I guess if I had to blurt a name out, it'd be Harbaugh. I'm really not sure he's ready yet, though, and while we're a young team that isn't as talented as some think (in terms of expectations), I also would wonder if we can wait around for him to be ready.

I'm fairly certain he would have a high learning curve, but he also seems ready to tackle it. If you put him with a pair of experienced coordinators, I'd be happy with that.

That's the only thing I could really say I'd be that happy about - I know there's a cult following for the ginger-ass coordinator of the Eagles but I'd want another year or two there too. The retreads, I could see numerous guys being a legitimate contender but I see a ton of risk. Oddly enough the best option of he former head coaches would be Holmgren - he's done it with a hall of famer, but he came close with Seattle despite retooling a few times. There's more reproducability there than, for instance, a Shanahan, whose success came all at once and barely any after.

 

Are you kidding me? I live here in North Carolina, have ties to NCSU... If Fox is gone my ass is in Richardsons office within hours

 

Remember,

We have a new President in the office.
If Fox goes expect Hurney to be gone as well.
Fox is not solely responsible for our q'back situation and Peppers 1milllion per game hog tying the payroll.

My bet is Hurney goes the same time or before Fox.

if we're trying people up for those two things, indemnify the owner. And good luck getting change there.

I believe people are tying Fox and Hurney together unnecessarily close. If we were to make changes, it's always possible Morrison would want his own GM, his own coach, but Hurney's been here over a decade essentially in the same role. I don't see him taking the fall for the owner's decision to keep a team largely intact and pay a premium to do so.
