Fox sounds pissed off with Davidson

The offense does suck this year. A lot of that is on Jake but I am sure part of it is on Davidson. The defense has been pretty good. I want to see us get a new QB but a new OC might not hurt either. I do not want to see us go to a pass first type OC though. We have a good running game. We just need a passing game that can compliment it well not replace it.

I think we all know the reality, Jake & Fox are not going anywhere. If there is going to be a change, it's Davidson as made even more clear in the comments from Fox

 

Davidson isn't getting it done. he'll probably be given the rest of the season to try to change things (simplify things). right now he's not getting consistent production from players that Henning made stars out of. the offense has gotten worse instead of better. I think a change is needed though change isn't easy or always a quick answer.

 

so many things are off here IMO. One I'd say our O is simple enough.
Two, I guess you could say he "made Smith a star" but who else? I would argue counter to that statement that we had ZERO growth in youth before 07 and tons after.

I have some issues with some calls, and he's disappointed when the calls don't work, but seems like fans always criticize the call for what amounts to screwing the play up.

 

I agree. And even though I wouldn't strenuously object if he were scapegoated to save Fox's job, I can see where it isn't all at his feet.

It wouldn't be unreasonable to take the position that Jake was forced on him, and further, he was handicapped by being told to protect Jake in the playcalling. Just as I defended him, or perhaps more accurately, refused to condemn him in '07 due to the circumstances, this situation isn't that much different. Jake may as well be Carr or Testaverde this year.

He may be pissed himself, that since he's been here the team hasn't done much at all to ensure the QB position is in good hands going forward. I know I am. IMO we should have invested in a guy to be grooming after Jake, who obviously was nearing the end of his shelf life even before he almost singlehandedly fucked our season up.
