    I don't really think it'll matter much, since he's a FA.

But, it's really interesting how much people are taking the player that seems to only earn opportunities when there seems to be no other option. I do guess in this case, Feeley is an option behind him, but that's not a lot.

Campbell would certainly improve the position from Delhomme (hard to go backward, insert punchline of choice here), and could warm up the spot for whatever rookie we get. He's not godawful, but billions or no, that O line is terrible, has been for a long time, and Portis is so overrated its hard to believe. Cooley and Moss are the only help he really has.

I'm interested in seeing how Moore plays with the starters.

Two things I think will happen dampen my spirits:

    1) I think the gameplan will be extremely run-heavy to the extent that it is a detriment.
    2) the passing plays they will run will be the same ones that the Panthers have run all season; little chance for easily completed passes. They need more crossing patterns and to create more opportunities to complete passes. More screen passes would help. What happened to the smoke route to Smith? Did the "passing game coordinator" McCoy take that section of the playbook with him?

At the very least, Moore has to have more touch and arm strength on deep passes than Delhomme has had recently.

I am just hopeful at the end of the season, the former sportswriter Hurney and his life partner Fox will not be making the decisions at years end.
that being said why not see if Moore can do anything at all.If not clean house at the qb spot.

You can spend all the billins you want on OL but when they are on IR it does not help much. Portis has been nicked up all year.

Even if this year's Campbell is as good as he gets it would still be an upgrade for us. His rating is in the mid 80s.

I still don't get the hate for moore. I thought he played very well as an undrafted rookie ( think about that - think about what we expect from rookies. ) Look at matt Ryan's first 3 games. Sanchez, Stafford.

I remember smitty glowing about moore in 2007. How poised and confident he was.

Moore has a shot. Biggest stretch of football in his life, and a HUGELY important stretch of games for the franchise. I gotta hope he performs.

He played well in 07. No denying that. And no hate here. But he didn't build on that in 08 Pre. He got supplanted by McCown as the 2. So you expect him to beat McC in 09 Pre, and he didn't. He never seemed to grow, even if you don't believe the media on his work ethic.

He does stand tall, and he drips confidence. Things I loved about oldschool 17. But has he shown he can read a D now? Not in preseason, when you're getting the easy stuff.

So he has to show that. He's not dumb, he has the tools. But he needs to put drives together, instead of taking the deep shot all the time.

It's not hate for me, it's disappointment in what he did given the chance to build on that. He followed that up with preseason ratings of 52 & 58 the past two years.
