I get tired of this whole "how do we know what we have is any better than Delhomme" sentiment.

We don't know Moore won't suck as bad when the live bullets are flying. What we DO know, is that what we have isn't working now.

And I didn't even get to see the fucking game. I had a meeting I couldn't miss, and missed my first Carolina game I think...I think ever.

And it looks like a stinker.

I wouldn't advocate abandoning the run. We could win some ballgames even with a run first approach and a decent passing game. Let's say we run the same offense but we have Brett Favre running the show. We'd certainly have a winning record, in my opinion (just speculation, but it seems sound). But we still couldn't hang with the Saints, Colts or Patriots if push came to shove.

My point here is, we cannot win CHAMPIONSHIPS with a run-first approach. If the goal is to just stay competitive, then we should hold onto Fox and just try and find a QB. Mission accomplished. Fox will keep the team competitive with a competent QB.

Does it matter? Does it matter whether the next 5 games are lost with Moore at QB or Delhomme at QB?

Frankly, I just want to watch us lose in other, more creative ways.

And, ummmm, what are the plans for QB next year anyway? Shouldn't Moore play 5 games so we know whether he's got any chance of starting next season or whether it's time to dump him and find a new starting QB (good luck on that, Mr. Richardson). :cussing:

    These points must be made.

    1. Panthers could not catch the swine flu on an infected pig farm.
    2. Jake would throw an interception even if the other team was on the field.
    3. We could not defend the end zone if it was the size of an air hockey field.
    4. They could not find a hot dog at Nathans.
    5. Fox could not find his way out of a one sided wet paper bag with directions.

Could be better but to say "it can't be much worse" is not entirely accurate. I'm not worried about anything Panther related at this point. I just don't see the point in throwing a QB that is rated behind Jake on the field. I'm not sure i could handle that unless our games start getting covered by the Comedy Channel.

Only putting a little faith in our guys. Fox says that JD is the guy, players haven't indicated otherwise.

Wasn't that the same team that JD had a QB rating over 110 when he was running it? Moore was something like an 80? If we do start Moore, should we expect his rating to be 30 points less than JD's? Is it possible to have a negative QB rating?

We nearly beat the Saints with Delhomme at quarterback. Meanwhile, Favre is turning Sidney Rice into a Pro Bowler. Think he'd get better results out of Smitty? Hell, he might even make Jarrett look competent.

Eli got his ring, against the best passing game in history, in part by shortening the game with a run based offense. A strong running game is never a bad thing. It got Elway his two rings. It got Aikman 3. Two guys in Canton.
