I saw him a few weeks ago. He had all his teeth. I watched his "presser" last night and he still had'em. :hilljack:

Fewell seems like he might be good future HC material. You just wonder if it's too early for him now, and if a bad season as an interim might railroad his chances down the line. On the flipside, if they improve from now to the end of the season, there's a good chance Buffalo will settle for him. I can't imagine many reputable names lining up for that job.

they're not the Raiders, just the Bengals. Even the cheap ass Bills can put together a little something.

I think they could get a cuckold like Fassell or Mariucci, who are actually better than a lot of guys coaching right now, but I don't see them being a stable franchise that could attract one of the big guns. Maybe they offer Shanahan complete control over personnel. That didn't work out too well for him in Denver, though.

Contacting someone and hiring them are 2 different things.

Also, why is Childress getting an extension for getting his team to play to expectations with a Hall of Fame QB instead of the guys he brought in?

It's too good of a fit for it not to happen...control, money, low-profile

That was my impression as well. Is he a 3-4 guy, or a 4-3 guy? Because honestly, if he's a 4-3 coach I think he'd probably be an upgrade over Meeks -- especially considering the youth of our secondary.

    He's traditionally been a 4-3 guy.

As for the Bills, looks like they've already been turned down by Gruden, who seems to be enjoying his gig and just signed an updated contract. So he's off the table. And as that goes, while the Bills are clearly a less advantageous place for an experienced coach to go to, they'll at least weed out the guys who aren't serious about coming back. A coach who wants to remain in contention for a job has to at least pretend to work on trying with Buffalo.
