He'll probably get some last shot with another team but he's not unlike Shaun Alexander was in the last few years: slower due to use and age and not very versatile.

He looked good at the beginning of '08, but I think that last injury pretty much buried him. It's not like someone is going to sign him so he can run down kickoffs, either.

    phew!

Johnson believed he was going to be drafted by Pittsburgh in 2003, but the Steelers traded with Kansas City to move up in the first round and take safety Troy Polamalu. Kansas City chose Johnson with the pick that was to have been Pittsburgh's, with the running back clearly upset he didn't go to the Steelers.

Why the shit would Pittsburgh want him now? They have three capable backs, and they're not even a running team anymore.

Stephen Davis gave us one strong year, though our 'roid rage line surely played a role in that. Unless it's a freak-of-nature like Thomas Jones, guys are usually done after a certain point, but that doesn't stop some desperate teams from giving it a shot.

It's probably comforting to know Pittsburgh will be there in case he rapes someone and needs a place to play.
