It's our first QB controversy. Collins over Reich not really, not alot of people calling for B-line over Collins, Collins quit, B-line got cut, nobody cried when peete replaced Weinke, everybody was delighted when delhomme replaced peete.

That Jax game is one of my favorite games ever - not just because we came back in a thrilling win, not just because the new guy did it, but b/c that new guy was the guy we'd looked 8 seasons for. And we got him - Fox and Hurney got him.

So now it's over - and not for reasons I'd expect. Nobody behind Jake is pushing him. No injury brought a young guy in. The backups didn't show their skills in week 1. And we still have a problem.

How the fuck do you fix that? I can see why they're loathe to switch. What are you switching for? Same but different? I suppose that's preferable, at the moment. It's just wierd.

I just hope it doesn't take another 8 years to find the next 'guy'.

i think delhomme retires at the end of the season, fox remains head coach... we will draft a qb and sign a free agent and there will be open competition between matt moore, the vet, and the rookie...

i would like to see matt moore start the rest of the season

I'll tell you what, it is hard to replace a QB. Dan Marino's last game was one of the hardest I ever watched. Jacksonville drug Miami so hard. Jay Fiedler was the next best QB the Dolphins have had and we may have finally found another franchise Qb with Henne. May. I like the guy a lot, but he's gotta prove he can do it for years, not just games.

I don't know that you're going to find a guy to replace Delhomme for a while, but I hope so. I want the Panthers to do well, but they had chances to go after other guys and didn't. A lot of decent QBs could be with the Panthers right now, but the franchise cast their lot with Delhomme. It was a bad decision, but I don't imagine anyone had any idea how bad Delhomme would be this year.

    There's Peppers, there's a high #2.

I'm not advocating or arguing getting a rookie, just answering the question.

I too agree with y2b. Although this season got pinched off short, at least the scouts have all year to know what to look for.

    Moore - gets big contract
    Moore - Derek Anderson.

What I saw in 2007, makes me think he can play this game. Not sure about the preseason.
