The biggest thing is we don't have a huge runstopping NT to play the 3-4. And that includes Kemo if he was perfectly healthy.

You would also need a coach who runs the 3-4. Meeks is not that guy.

If you did this next year here is how I see it:

    DE Kemo
    DE Lewis
NT free agent or draft pick
OLB Peppers - if he stays
OLB free agent or draft pick
    ILB Beason
    ILB Connor

You need two new players and to convince Peppers to stay. You are also wasting Davis who is just hitting his stride. In fairness the defense we run would be a lot better with two new players and a happy Peppers.

Reason I ask is I don't see Fox here next year. Based upon the schedule following the next three games the Panthers will be lucky IMO to win 5 games total. No 1st round next year Richardson will clean house.

The reality is we'd need a whole new set of down lineman, I don't trust Lewis to do shit, Kemo is aging and coming off of a severe injury (not mention $$$), and like everyone says we don't have a NT.

What leads you to believe that Richardson is going to get rid of Fox?

If we really tank it's absolutely possible. It's a tough schedule that we've squandered a fifth of. I don't think it's imminent personally, but it's possible.

And Paul and Thelt bring up an interesting point together. The last guy we hired took no time getting started, despite one of the league's worst offenses, because he stayed with youth and stayed with what was available. We have a lot of youth, and we have enough that can be relied on in the future.

Granted some of that was JR. He hired a guy who was going to work with our front office, who was going to go with a defensive philosophy that built on what we had, and wasn't hell bent on getting his guys.

I can imagine if the Panthers have a 1-15 season, but I think most people realistically expected this to be a bad year.

Bless yall's hearts,,, you know it sure would be nice if certain players would show as much passion as some of you posters.

As for the schedule and this year's expectations, I think the worst preseason prediction I ever saw from anyone was in the "7-9, 8-8, 9-7" range,,,,,,,,,,,,, nobody was counting on us falling to 3-13 or 4-12.

I agree with only 3-5 wins,,, heads will roll,,, and should.
